Weight Management
Achieving sustainable weight loss requires a medical approach that looks beyond diet trends. At Nexus Mind & Medical Center, we treat overweight and obesity as chronic, multifactorial metabolic conditions.

A metabolic program
Labs, lifestyle, and medication working together.
Our weight management program is led by Charlotte Fatiregun, who has completed advanced education and clinical training in obesity management. We combine comprehensive laboratory evaluations, physical health tracking, personalized lifestyle and nutritional guidance, and FDA-approved medications to help patients ages 12 and older improve metabolic function and reduce the risk of chronic disease.
01 / Baseline diagnostic evaluation
We measure before we prescribe.
Before prescribing any weight-management therapies, we conduct a baseline medical assessment. Depending on clinical need, this evaluation may include:
- Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) assessing kidney and liver health
- Hemoglobin A1C and fasting blood glucose to evaluate insulin resistance
- Lipid profile measuring cardiovascular risk markers
- Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and endocrine panels to assess metabolic regulation
- Baseline blood pressure, weight, BMI, and clinical anthropometric measurements
02 / FDA-approved anti-obesity pharmacotherapies
Medication as a tool, not a shortcut.
When clinically appropriate, medications can serve as an effective tool to regulate appetite, enhance insulin sensitivity, and assist with weight reduction. We evaluate patients for FDA-approved anti-obesity medications, including GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as semaglutide).
Medication selection depends on your medical history, current BMI, weight-related health conditions, contraindications, current medications, prior treatments, personal goals, and insurance coverage.
Prescribing policy notice
Anti-obesity medications are prescribed at the provider’s clinical discretion following a comprehensive clinical evaluation. No specific medication is guaranteed. Ongoing medication use requires adherence to follow-up visits, routine safety monitoring, and active participation in lifestyle modifications.
Our multifactorial clinical approach
The parts of the plan that keep the result.
- 01
Nutrition & Dietary Counseling
We focus on sustainable, real-world nutrition rather than crash diets. We help you build meal patterns that prioritize adequate protein to preserve lean muscle tissue, balance blood sugar, and support steady daily energy.
- 02
Physical Activity & Functional Movement
Exercise recommendations are tailored to your current fitness level, joint health, and daily schedule, emphasizing activities that build functional strength, support cardiovascular health, and protect metabolic rate.
- 03
Behavioral, Sleep & Stress Optimization
Chronic stress, elevated cortisol, poor sleep hygiene, and emotional triggers influence weight regulation. We evaluate these factors and provide realistic habit-structuring strategies to support long-term weight maintenance.
Individualized treatment schedules
Treatment schedules, injection cadences, and follow-up consultations are individualized based on your medical needs, medication response, safety monitoring, and personal goals.
